RELIGION
The Religion
programs at St. Paul's includes classroom preparation for students
attending St. Paul's Catholic School and those not attending parochial
schools about the Catholic faith.
For
students attending St. Paul's Catholic School the religion program of each
child is at the core of the philosophy and mission of St. Paul's
School. The program entails such items as involvement of students
and teachers in all aspects of religion curriculum; participation in daily
religion class and weekly Mass by all grade levels and opportunities to
participate in various aspects of the Mass; Children's Choirs and Youth
Singers; and the Stations-of-the-Cross during the season of Lent.
Parents are expected to assume the primary responsibility for the faith
and moral development of their children. Attendance and
participation in weekly Sunday liturgy is central to this development.
(Please see the curriculum for a more detailed outline of our religion
program by grade level.)
St.
Paul's Religious Education Program for those not attending parochial
schools about the Catholic faith offers classes for students in
Kindergarten through High School. Beginning with the basics in
kindergarten, students are taught Scripture, Church History and Tradition,
Prayer and Worship, Doctrine and Christian morality. Each grade
level adheres to developmental and age-appropriate objectives stressed by
the Catechism of the Catholic Church, The National Catechetical
Directory, and the Diocese of St. Augustine. Please see the CCD page
for more information.
