Congratulations to St. Paul’s 2002 Soccer Team! This will be
the 4th year in a row they have won the League
Championship and the Tournament Championship Game. WE ARE PROUD OF
YOU! Sean Halpin, Kenny Argueta and Carley Reiley were named as the
players for the Diocesan All-Star Game. In my book and a lot of
others, after a 4-peat, there wasn’t a member on that team that
wasn’t an all-star!!!!
The team had a special reason to win this year. Word had spread
that Coach Bailie would be putting up her soccer cleats at the end
of this school year after coaching the St.
Paul’s Soccer Team for 21 years. When asked how she had first
started to Coach Soccer, I learned she was told her son’s team would
not have a Coach unless she was willing to take on the job! So…for
21 years Coach has made sure the students of St. Paul’s were able to
have a team! THANKS COACH! For those of you lucky enough to see the
tournament championship game played against the Christ-the-King
Ravens, it was a nail-biter!
At the end of the game, when we realized we had won…Coach Bailie
was lifted and hugged by her son and team members! St. Paul’s played
with all their hearts….and were able to deliver Coach’s last ‘great’
victory!
Coach Bailie has turned over her coaching position to Chris
Stouffer, who is currently teaching Art at St. Paul’s. Well…will it
be a 5-Peat! TIME WILL TELL! I say, GO FOR IT!!!!
