Dear Parents:
St. Paul’s is excited to
offer SCRIP for a second year. If
you are new to St. Paul’s Catholic School, new to using the SCRIP program, or
have been an active participant, here is a refresher as to how the SCRIP program
works and why it is so vital to our school fundraising.
The St. Paul’s SCRIP program allows you to reduce the cost of YOUR
tuition as well as providing funds for improving our school by purchasing gift
certificates for things you already buy everyday! These gift certificates are purchased by the school SCRIP
committee at a discount and resold to you at face value. The “profit” earned
is split 50/50 between the school and your family tuition account or another
account you designate on the Registration form.
There
are three ways in which to purchase SCRIP. Gift
certificates and prepaid cards are available through our order form, purchases
can be made through Cash & Carry, and you can also purchase merchandise
directly through our internet SCRIP mall. You may wonder what kind of
certificates and stores are offered. There
are many businesses offered on our order form and more will be added as more
businesses sign up. Our internet
mall includes some well known name brand stores as well as smaller ones.
Be sure to print the Participating Retailers & Guidelines on
the St. Paul’s website for the complete list of businesses for the order forms
and Cash and Carry and our internet SCRIP mall list for stores available on the
internet. The gift certificates are used just like cash in the store,
and you can still use coupons and
buy things on sale. Stores like
Winn-Dixie, Food Lion for groceries, Shell, Citgo and Mobile for gas, Kmart,
Sears, JCPenney, Dillard’s and Toys R Us for all your clothing and toy needs,
Outback and Longhorn Steakhouses, Wendy’s, Burger King, Joe’s Crab Shack,
and Pizza Hut for restaurants are just a sampling of the stores available to
reduce your tuition and increase your schools fundraising. You can even use the
certificates to pay certain charge accounts if you pay in person at the store.
You receive credit on your tuition account by simply buying things that
you normally would. You can even sell SCRIP (gift certificates) to grandparents,
friends, family members, or neighbors to receive additional credit for your
family tuition account. It is a
great way to earn free tuition!!!
This year’s program will run
similar to last year with only two changes.
Orders will continue to be ordered on Tuesday and delivered on Friday and
we will continue with Cash and Carry every day before and after school. One
change will be that families will be receiving a quarterly statement for your
reduction in tuition instead of just twice a year. I hope this change will increase the number of families who
use the program. The other change
will be that the SCRIP fundraiser will be held during the Thanksgiving break and
the following week to try to include those families, friends, relatives, and
neighbors who purchase gift certificates for gifts as well as for themselves for
Christmas.
To keep you up to date on the
latest information regarding the SCRIP program including new businesses added
and additional incentives or services, the weekly “SCRIP TIP” will continue
to be sent home with your “oldest and only” child on Friday.
All SCRIP information including order forms, Cash & Carry
availability lists, specials, SCRIP TIPs, and more will be included on the St.
Paul’s website www.members.tripod.com/stpaulscs.
You may refer to that to get the latest order form and all updates.
Be sure to check it often as new items are added frequently!!!!
We are still looking for
volunteers for this program for 1-3 hours per week. If you would like to volunteer for the SCRIP program to get
your volunteer hours, or if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions
about the SCRIP program, PLEASE contact the SCRIP Coordinator, Tammy Cronin, at
992-8809, e-mail at Rumtum3988@aol.com
God Bless,
Tammy Cronin
